History Maker Biographies Set 2 – School Library Connection

This series of biographies is a perfect fit for your library’s PreK through first grade patrons. A very simple Table of Contents, complete with a period photograph, prefaces each very simple, well-written biography. Each page contains two to three sentences of text with the important (or new) words presented in bold type on the left and photographs on the right. A timeline at the end of the book shows the important years in the person’s life with simple captions. An especially useful feature is the ability to access abdokids.com—the code for each book is included on the last page. The code takes the reader directly to coloring pages, word find puzzles, crafts, and videos of the person spotlighted. With the increasing addition of more and more younger children to schools, this is an invaluable resource. Highly Recommended

History Maker Biographies Set 2 - School Library Journal

These titles necessarily simplify complex topics–Rosa Parks also introduces the civil rights movement, for instance–but they are ideal for the target audience.
